56 Joint Personnel Clean Up Utan Kayu River

56 joint personnel from urban village and sub-district PPSU, Water Resources (SDA) Unit, FKDM, and PKK cadres cleaned up Utan Kayu River in Matraman, East Jakarta.

Because there are so many densely populated settlements along the river

Matraman Sub-district Head, Andriansyah mentioned, this cleaning work was carried out to anticipate flooding and inundation in surrounding areas during rainy season and made people more aware of the importance of implementing Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS).

"We encourage people to work together in maintaining cleanliness in Utan Kayu River thus flooding and inundation can be anticipated during rainy season. Because there are so many densely populated settlements along the river," he said, Monday (2/1).

East Jakarta Mayor Monitors Mini Reservoir Development in Ceger

This cleaning activity was focus on RW 06 and RW 012 of Utan Kayu Selatan Urban Village, along approximately 750 meters.

"Later on, this area can be used to develop MSMEs by holding bazaar along Utan Kayu River. This activity will be programmed once every two weeks to advance economy in Utan Kayu Selatan Urban Village," he explained.
